Who Can Refer

We accept referrals from health, housing, social care and community organisations — including GPs, social prescribers, housing officers, environmental health, adult social care, NHS services, charities, fire and rescue, and mental health teams.

Referral Criteria

Referrals are accepted for anyone affected by cold homes, damp, mould, fuel poverty, high energy costs or heating problems. There are no strict eligibility criteria for submitting a referral — we will triage and explore available options.

What Information Is Needed

Referrer details, resident details (where applicable), property address, a summary of the situation, urgency level, and preferred contact method. The more detail you provide, the better we can coordinate support.

Consent Requirements

Consent from the resident (or their representative) is required before we can contact them and share information with partner organisations. Professionals should confirm consent has been obtained before submitting a referral.

Safeguarding Process

If a safeguarding concern is identified during referral or assessment, we follow our safeguarding policy and refer to the appropriate statutory agency. All staff and partners are trained to recognise and report safeguarding concerns.

Urgent and Emergency Exclusions

Future Stability is not an emergency service. If there is immediate danger, call 999. For gas leaks, electrical danger or loss of essential supply, contact the relevant utility emergency line. For safeguarding emergencies, contact the local authority.

How Referral Updates Work

Once a referral is submitted, the referrer receives a confirmation. Our team reviews the referral and contacts the resident or referrer to discuss next steps. Updates are provided at key stages of the process.

Tracking Referrals

Professionals who make a referral can access the portal to track the status of their referral, view outcomes, and communicate securely with the coordinator — subject to consent and information-sharing protocols.

Request a Service Demonstration

We offer demonstrations for organisations interested in referring to Warm Homes. Contact us to arrange a session for your team.

Training and Referral Guidance

We provide referral guidance and training resources to help professionals understand the referral process, consent requirements, and what support may be available.
