Warm Homes Service

Helping People Live in Warmer, Safer and Healthier Homes

Future Stability provides one coordinated route to support for residents affected by cold homes, damp, mould, fuel poverty, high energy costs or heating problems.

We assess each referral, explore available support and coordinate trusted organisations so residents do not have to navigate multiple services alone.

Need Urgent Help?

Future Stability is not an emergency service. If there is immediate danger, call 999. For gas leaks or electrical danger, contact your utility emergency line. If a child or adult is at immediate risk, contact your local authority safeguarding team. Submit a Warm Homes referral for non-emergency coordination and follow-up.

Warm Homes and Health

A Warm Home Is a Healthier Home

Cold, damp and mould can make existing health conditions worse and create new ones. Living in a cold home is not just uncomfortable — it can affect physical and mental wellbeing.

Cold, damp and mould can worsen:

  • Respiratory conditions (such as asthma or COPD)
  • Cardiovascular conditions
  • Arthritis and mobility problems
  • Mental health
  • Childhood health and development
  • Older people's health and wellbeing
  • Recovery after hospital discharge

This information is not clinical advice. If you have health concerns, please speak to a healthcare professional.

Priority Households

Who May Be at Greater Risk?

Some people are more vulnerable to the effects of living in a cold or damp home. We give extra attention to ensuring these households receive appropriate support.

Older people
Babies, children and young people
Pregnant people
People with disabilities
People with respiratory or heart conditions
People with long-term health conditions
Low-income households
Private tenants
Rural or off-gas households
People experiencing digital exclusion
People recently discharged from hospital
Carers
People experiencing social isolation

Being in one of these groups does not mean automatic eligibility for support, but we will prioritise your referral for review.

Tell Your Story Once

Future Stability records the information needed to coordinate support so residents do not have to repeat the same circumstances to multiple organisations.

Where consent is provided, we can share relevant information securely with approved partners, track onward referrals and keep the resident or referrer updated.
